Paint/Body Worker I

Responsibilities

• Prep, sand, and buff painted vehicles to ensure a high-quality finish
• Tape and mask off non-painted surfaces and parts
• Seal body seams with epoxy seam sealer and smooth for final paint
• Grind, fill, and sand welds, dents, and gouges in exterior panels using body filler
• Spray primer on all areas where body filler was applied
• Wipe down all surfaces with grease and wax remover prior to painting
• Operate buffers to remove orange peel texture and achieve proper finish
• Maintain a safe and clean work area following 6S standards
• Climb on vehicles and use fall protection when required

Requirements

• Ability to use dual action sanders, grinders, and various hand tools
• General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
• Ability to lift and move 40 lbs. regularly
• Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments and high temperatures
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and work with arms above head for extended periods
• Professional communication skills and ability to follow directions

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-year experience in automotive paint prep and body repair
• High school diploma or GED
