Paid Responder Firefighter

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency incidents including fires, rescues, medical, and hazardous materials
• Train to achieve required skills in firefighting and medical pre-hospital care
• Maintain and clean equipment and apparatus
• Support community through public education and community activities
• Participate in weekly 2.5 hour training sessions and some weekend training

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Current Alberta Driver's Licence with a safe driving record
• Grade 12 education or GED equivalent
• RCMP Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
• Doctor's letter confirming medical fitness for firefighting duties
• Must live within 15km of the listed stations
