Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering individual and group therapy sessions under the guidance of qualified therapists
• Implement therapy interventions and produce resources to support students' communication development
• Develop therapeutic relationships with children to encourage engagement and progress
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to therapists and educational staff
• Liaise with parents and school staff regarding children's needs and progress
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and student progress
• Contribute to the preparation of training materials and support the induction of new staff

Requirements

• Recognised training in Special Educational Needs (desirable)
• Experience working with children with complex needs (desirable)
• Strong interpersonal, flexible, and team-focused attitude
• Ability to work independently while following therapist guidance
• Physically agile and able to work therapeutically at floor/table level
• Car driver or reliable means to reach the school site
