About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering individual and group therapy sessions under the guidance of qualified therapists
- Implement therapy interventions and produce resources to support students' communication development
- Develop therapeutic relationships with children to encourage engagement and progress
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to therapists and educational staff
- Liaise with parents and school staff regarding children's needs and progress
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and student progress
- Contribute to the preparation of training materials and support the induction of new staff
Requirements
- Recognised training in Special Educational Needs (desirable)
- Experience working with children with complex needs (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal, flexible, and team-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently while following therapist guidance
- Physically agile and able to work therapeutically at floor/table level
- Car driver or reliable means to reach the school site
