Paediatric Special School Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Deliver and review individualised therapy programmes, including AAC interventions
• Work closely with teachers, support staff, families, and other professionals to embed communication strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in line with HCPC and RCSLT standards
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, reviews, and care planning

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Eligibility for RCSLT membership
• Experience working with complex needs including PMLD, ASC, and AAC
• Strong clinical reasoning and teamwork skills
