About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to support students' communication development
- Assess students' speech, language, and communication needs using standardised and informal tools
- Develop and implement personalised therapy plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Provide training and support to school staff and parents to enhance students' communication skills
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and reviews
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Eligibility for RCSLT membership
- Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication difficulties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a special school setting
- Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and SEMH needs
- Experience with dysphagia assessment and management
