Paediatric Special School Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to support students' communication development
• Assess students' speech, language, and communication needs using standardised and informal tools
• Develop and implement personalised therapy plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide training and support to school staff and parents to enhance students' communication skills
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and reviews

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Eligibility for RCSLT membership
• Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication difficulties
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a special school setting
• Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and SEMH needs
• Experience with dysphagia assessment and management
