Paediatric Sleep Physiologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct and interpret sleep studies for paediatric patients, including those dependent on oxygen, non-invasive ventilation, or invasive (tracheostomy) ventilation
• Oversee the setup and monitoring of sleep studies to ensure accurate data collection and patient comfort
• Provide pre-admission telephone consultations and meet/greet patients and families
• Explain procedures to patients and their families
• Collaborate with medical, scientific, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive paediatric sleep services
• Report and communicate findings to referring paediatric respiratory consultants
• Participate in the home sleep service and occasional night shifts to optimize inpatient ventilator support
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Requirements

• BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
• Accreditation by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) or equivalent (EACVI/ARDMS)
• Experience in paediatric sleep studies and respiratory physiology
• Strong understanding of sleep disorders and their management in children
