About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and deliver therapy for children with speech, language, and communication needs (ASC, DLD, SEMH)
- Manage a caseload of approximately 65 pupils across Enhanced Provision and mainstream settings
- Deliver targeted interventions through 1:1 sessions, small group work, and classroom-based strategies
- Support and implement AAC systems, including communication boards and other tools
- Provide guidance, training, and strategies to teaching staff to embed communication support
- Contribute to EHCP processes, including reviews, reporting, and target setting
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support holistic outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration and RCSLT membership (or eligibility)
- Experience working with paediatric caseloads, ideally within schools or community settings
- Knowledge of AAC, pre-verbal communication approaches, and Colourful Semantics
- Experience supporting children with ASC, DLD, and complex communication needs
