About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct holistic assessments of pupils’ sensory, motor, and functional needs
- Plan and deliver evidence-based OT interventions (1:1, small-group, and classroom-embedded)
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and support the achievement of pupils’ individual outcomes
- Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and external agencies to embed OT strategies across the curriculum
- Provide training, coaching, and guidance for staff and families on sensory regulation, functional skills, and independence
- Lead on developing whole-school approaches to sensory-friendly environments and inclusive practice
Requirements
- Dip COT, BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC and BAOT registration
- Previous experience in a special school setting or CAMHS service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving
