Paediatric Mainstream/ASD Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs in mainstream and ASD school settings
• Deliver individualised, evidence-based therapy interventions to support communication, learning, and social development
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, parents/carers, and the wider multi-disciplinary team
• Contribute to EHCPs, reviews, and progress reporting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with professional standards
• Use dysphagia management skills where appropriate and within your scope of practice

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Experience working with children with ASC and SLCN, ideally in school settings
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Flexible, proactive, and child-centred approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dysphagia
