About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric dysphagia and associated speech, language, and communication needs
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy and feeding plans in line with clinical guidelines
  • Work closely with families, carers, and education/health professionals to ensure safe swallowing strategies are followed
  • Provide specialist advice, training, and support to parents, carers, and staff in managing dysphagia
  • Manage a caseload independently across community settings, including homes, schools, and clinics
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in accordance with professional standards

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the RCSLT
  • Significant experience working with paediatric dysphagia
  • Strong knowledge of swallowing assessment and management in children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload
