About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage children and young people with speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties
- Deliver specialist interventions for paediatric dysphagia and complex communication needs
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, educational professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide advice, training, and support to parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the child's care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards
- Participate in case discussions, reviews, and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Previous experience in paediatric Speech and Language Therapy services
- Experience assessing and managing paediatric dysphagia cases
- Experience supporting children with complex communication needs
