About the role

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate outcomes for children with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Provide school-based interventions and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and families
  • Deliver therapy in line with evidence-based practice across different school environments
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records and reports
  • Support the development of therapy programmes and service improvement initiatives
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff
  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes
  • Adhere to local safeguarding, clinical governance, and health and safety policies

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility for RCSLT membership
  • Experience working with children and young people in educational or community settings
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
