About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess children and young people’s speech, language, and communication needs
- Deliver targeted interventions for phonology, language disorders, and AAC
- Undertake Section F provisions of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Write termly care plans and detailed clinical reports
- Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and liaise with parents and teachers
- Deliver therapy addressing communication, sensory, and motor needs in school settings
- Visit schools and community settings across Essex
- Offer clinical support and guidance to lower banded team members
- Maintain accurate clinical records
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience at Band 6 level
- Experience with autism and special educational needs
- Sensory integration training relevant to paediatric practice
- Experience delivering therapy within school settings
- Strong report writing skills and EHCP documentation experience
- Ability to undertake autonomous lone working
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
