About the role

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a caseload of children and young people within the community and school-age service
  • Assess, diagnose, and deliver appropriate intervention plans for children with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to support children’s communication development
  • Provide training and advice to parents, carers, and education staff
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in line with professional and organisational standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to care planning and reviews

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
  • Previous experience in paediatric community or school-age services
  • Experience managing a paediatric caseload independently
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
