About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, differential diagnosis, and programmes of intervention for children and teenagers
- Perform instrumental assessments of swallowing, including video fluoroscopy
- Manage tracheostomy care for children and teenagers, including in-reaching into adult ICU
- Support children on both curative and palliative pathways
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Acute paediatric dysphagia competence
- Significant clinical experience in specialist fields (e.g., head & neck, neuro, oncology, or acute paediatric dysphagia)
- Experience in an NHS acute hospital environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
