Packet Core Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute Packet Core upgrades for various network elements including SGSN-MME, AMF, SMF, and UPF
• Perform critical pre-checks, health checks, and post-upgrade validations to ensure network integrity
• Execute software installations, patching, and traffic migration activities during maintenance windows
• Troubleshoot integration and post-upgrade issues across diverse network elements
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Design, and Operations teams on solution design and implementation
• Maintain and update Method of Procedure (MoP) and technical documentation
• Automate repetitive tasks and manual processes using Python or Shell scripting
• Ensure service continuity and compliance with customer SLAs during traffic cutovers

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of 4G EPC and 5G Core architecture
• Hands-on experience with MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF, and PCF
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems
• Experience with Virtualization and Cloud technologies (OpenStack, Kubernetes)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure maintenance windows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD tools
• Proficiency in log analysis and tracing tools
• Previous customer-facing experience in a technical capacity
