Packaging Specialist

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical packaging lead for innovation, renovation, and quality improvement projects
• Support factory packaging line performance and optimize filling and packaging equipment
• Manage the packaging development lifecycle from ideation through industrialization
• Identify optimal packaging materials and die-lines while ensuring compliance with food safety standards
• Design palletization patterns to optimize transportation costs and ensure stability
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Procurement to prevent defects and identify cost savings
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve quality issues and source sustainable packaging materials

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science
• Understanding of packaging materials, structures, and equipment compatibility
• Knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, SQF, FDA)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in cold or freezer manufacturing environments
• Willingness to travel to various US manufacturing sites to support trials and start-ups

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a food or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment, specifically with frozen or dairy products
• Experience with new product development, commercialization projects, or packaging trials
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for tracking components, costs, and timelines
