Packaging Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain packaging equipment, including dryers and lactose evaporators
• Follow established department GMPs, SOPs, and batch record instructions
• Perform hook ups and CIP (Clean-in-Place) on dryer equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment shortfalls or failures and perform minor repairs
• Ensure accurate recording of operating logs, metal detector data, and batch records
• Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for food safety
• Communicate effectively with team members to accomplish duties and support the department
• Assist other personnel as needed and attend mandatory safety meetings

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to continuously lift over 50lbs during a scheduled work shift
• Ability to obtain a license and operate a forklift
• Ability to work in dusty environments and ascend/descend stairs and ladders
• Strong attention to detail for data entry into ERP software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and night shifts as required

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, farming, or agriculture environment
• Related post-secondary training
