Packaging Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient performance and minimize downtime
• Perform equipment changeovers, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance
• Conduct reliability tests, such as metal detector and scale checks, for food safety and quality assurance
• Perform quality checks on raw ingredients, in-process materials, and finished products
• Accurately collect and record production data, samples, waste, and downtime
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly work areas in compliance with sanitation standards
• Identify and correct routine or repetitive upset conditions in a safe and timely manner
• Support shipping, receiving, storage, and material replenishment activities
• Work a J Shift schedule: 5:30pm-5:50am on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn and operate production equipment
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, climbing, and walking for extended periods
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively in English

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing or related experience
