Packaging Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cost-effective packaging, handling, and hazardous materials distribution solutions
• Assist in determining efficiencies and preparing improvements for worldwide distribution and storage
• Provide logistics support analysis in accordance with domestic and international laws
• Develop warehousing material flow, equipment layout, and capital budgets
• Evaluate, classify, and develop packaging instructions for hazardous materials (dangerous goods)
• Plan markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments to ensure regulatory compliance
• Maintain employee awareness regarding hazardous materials safety requirements and federal regulations
• Research and investigate requirements for material handling equipment to improve capabilities

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• 1+ years of experience in packaging engineering
• 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• 1+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations, and assessments
• 3+ years of experience creating packaging requirements
• 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks, NX Unigraphics, or Catia
• Degree in Engineering or a related Technical Discipline
