Packaging Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the creative and technical development of engineered packaging solutions from concept through production
• Oversee and manage a team of designers, including hiring and performance management
• Design packaging solutions to protect products from damage during shipping
• Drive the production of samples and prototypes to ensure quality standards are met
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations to ensure designs are manufacturable
• Conduct customer site visits, audits, and training to determine and implement best packaging solutions
• Partner with the Sales Team to prioritize projects and support third-party representative training
• Identify opportunities for design innovation and process improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
• 5+ years of industrial design experience
• Proficiency in Catia, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks
• Proven ability to develop 2-D and 3-D models
• Experience in packaging or engineering design
• Strong design and manufacturing aptitude
• Ability to support sales through customer site visits and application analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous leadership or managerial experience
• Experience with line automation
• Strong technology skills and social media knowledge for customer engagement
