Packaging Buyer

Responsibilities

• Implement local procurement strategies for packaging materials including glass, closures, decorative elements, cardboard, metal, and plastic.
• Lead local negotiations and contribute to Group-level tenders to optimize costs, quality, and sustainability.
• Manage supplier continuity through backup plans, dual sourcing, and safety stock management.
• Ensure full contractual coverage for the portfolio, including commercial, logistical, quality, and intellectual property terms.
• Monitor supplier risks across technical, financial, legal, and ESG/CSR dimensions.
• Manage daily supplier relationships through performance reviews, audits, and continuous improvement plans.
• Partner with Packaging Development teams during early project phases to identify suppliers and provide cost estimations.
• Propose optimization levers such as value engineering, packaging simplification, and material alternatives.
• Provide regular reporting on contracts, savings, supplier performance, and budget hypotheses.

Requirements

• Higher education with a specialization in procurement.
• Proven experience in packaging procurement within a demanding FMCG environment.
• Technical knowledge of materials such as glass, cardboard, metal, plastic, or closures.
• Proficiency in managing tenders, negotiations, and supplier risk management.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work effectively within a complex, matrixed international organization.
