About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients in a 24/7 emergency setting
- Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, reviewing care plans, and performing diagnostic imaging
- Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, and bandaging wounds
- Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, restraining patients, and assisting veterinarians
- Maintain medical records by accurately documenting patient conditions, reactions, and changes
- Maintain a safe and humane environment by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting operating areas
- Manage inventory and maintain medical equipment through regular troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working as a technician in a veterinary emergency setting
- Proficiency in triage skills
- Ability to perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Experience with sedation monitoring
- Proficiency in taking radiographs
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in emergency medicine, including at least 1 year in an ICU
- Certification as a CVT, LVT, RVT, or LVMT
