Overnight Emergency Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients in a 24/7 emergency setting
• Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, reviewing care plans, and performing diagnostic imaging
• Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, and bandaging wounds
• Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, restraining patients, and assisting veterinarians
• Maintain medical records by accurately documenting patient conditions, reactions, and changes
• Maintain a safe and humane environment by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting operating areas
• Manage inventory and maintain medical equipment through regular troubleshooting and preventive maintenance

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working as a technician in a veterinary emergency setting
• Proficiency in triage skills
• Ability to perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Experience with sedation monitoring
• Proficiency in taking radiographs

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in emergency medicine, including at least 1 year in an ICU
• Certification as a CVT, LVT, RVT, or LVMT
