Overlay Operator

Responsibilities

• Manage all weld overlay applications and support rebuilds of coal pulverizer and coal plant fuel delivery equipment
• Provide technical knowledge for drawing reviews to determine weld application material and tolerance adherence
• Measure components using handheld tools such as dial indicators and micrometers
• Solve non-standard assembly and disassembly challenges using mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic equipment
• Execute daily production tasks according to schedules assigned by leadership
• Operate lifting equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts
• Utilize welding and acetylene burning equipment for equipment rebuilds

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience rebuilding products including mechanical assembly and disassembly
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and weld symbols
• Proficiency with manual and pneumatic tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with weld overlay application using manipulator and rotating positioner
• Knowledge of welding theory and machine welding
• Light fabrication assembly experience
• Ability to use CNC plasma operated equipment
