Overhead Lines Operative

Responsibilities

• Carry out hazard and defect clearance on distribution overhead line assets
• Support planned and reactive overhead line maintenance in line with safety rules
• Ensure all work is undertaken safely and in compliance with health and safety legislation
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain
• Use vehicles, tools, and plant safely once trained and authorised
• Use company-issued digital devices (e.g., iPad, mobile phone) for operational tasks
• Maintain a professional approach when working in public areas and on customer premises

Requirements

• Commitment to completing a six-month training programme
• Evidence of suitable physical fitness
• Full UK driving licence
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous experience in a utility support role is advantageous but not required
