Responsibilities
- Operate an overhead crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads
- Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement
- Ensure loads are safely attached to the crane before movement
- Follow written, verbal, or signal instructions from helpers and supervisors
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy to place material in bays
- Start and stop crane controls according to operational needs
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED preferred
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes (6 months to 3+ years depending on level)
- Ability to follow verbal and signal instructions accurately
- Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
