Outside Plant Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and manage outside plant (OSP) construction projects including fiber installation and infrastructure builds
• Ensure on-site compliance with OSHA, company safety programs, and quality standards
• Create and manage project schedules, objectives, and performance standards
• Interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and contract terms for staff and subcontractors
• Oversee all on-site work through field supervisors and monitor progress, costs, and resource utilization
• Manage financial aspects of contracts and ensure projects remain within budget
• Lead communication between administrative staff, field supervisors, customers, and stakeholders
• Provide mentorship and training to on-site teams and construction crews

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in OSP, fiber, or telecommunications construction management
• Proven experience in OSP management and understanding of fiber installation processes
• Knowledge of OTDR testing, splicing basics, and RUS specifications
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and job specifications
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel frequently (30–70%)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift 20–50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
• 5–10 years of OSP installation or field construction experience
• Related trade school education
• Industry safety, rescue, or technical certifications
• CDL license
