Outside Plant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Meet with Township, City, County, and State officials to discuss road and utility projects
• Locate and identify Frontier facilities and evaluate project impacts
• Collaborate with utilities to develop relocation plans to minimize conflicts
• Field and design OSP BAU work orders including aerial, buried, and underground fiber/copper
• Update design and project systems such as FROGS, CAD, Varasset, and SiteTracker
• Coordinate with power companies and communication providers regarding make-ready work and pole replacements
• Prepare and submit permits to local, state, and federal agencies (DOT, DNR, Railroad, etc.)
• Partner with SSP Contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective construction
• Address plant damage repair requests and conduct site surveys for cell towers
• Support field and central office technicians by resolving PUC complaints

Requirements

• 3–5+ years in copper and fiber-optic telecommunications engineering
• 5+ years in network engineering or a related field
• Strong knowledge of fiber record management, cable counts, and permitting
• Proficiency in FROGS, CAD, and OSP Telecom Construction
• Experience with Frontier mapping and design tools
• Ability to travel as needed for project meetings, inspections, and surveys
• Must reside in Southeast, OH
