Outreach Lead

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of up to six Outreach Specialists, coordinating their activities and motivating them in their work
• Ensure that daily and weekly outreach goals are met and report progress to leadership
• Provide programmatic support and logistical planning for Outreach teams and Directors
• Identify opportunities for new relationships and collaboration with community stakeholders
• Prepare and deliver presentations at meetings, events, and community gatherings
• Lead trainings for staff and community stakeholders
• Maintain records of events, projects, and referrals using various technologies

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and two years of experience in community work or related activities; OR
• High school graduation and six years of experience in community work or related activities; OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least one year of experience in community-centered activities
• Demonstrated experience running a team, preferably in outreach, field, or campaign settings
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with direct community engagement

The Tenant Support Unit specifically works to engage New Yorkers at risk of displacement or harassment, connecting them with vital resources like legal assistance and repair support.
