Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD).
• Perform systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post-hemodialysis treatment.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update nursing assessments and plans of care.
• Provide initial and ongoing education to patients and their families regarding treatment and learning needs.
• Direct and provide safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are followed.
• Participate in emergency response measures and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state nursing licensure.
• Current CPR BLS Certification.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to assist with patient ambulation.
• Ability to stand for frequent, prolonged periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in chronic or acute hemodialysis.
• Previous experience in Nephrology Nursing.
