Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality hemodialysis care and manage patient treatment plans in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
• Direct and delegate tasks to Patient Care Technicians, LVNs/LPNs, and Dialysis Assistants to ensure safe delivery of therapy.
• Assess daily patient needs, develop care assignments, and monitor staff for adherence to proper techniques and procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), vascular access, dialysis therapy, diet, and medication compliance.
• Implement and monitor treatment prescriptions, making appropriate adjustments to the treatment plan as indicated by the prescribing physician.
• Perform nursing assessments, including initial and annual evaluations, and maintain accurate documentation in the Medical Information System.
• Manage laboratory orders, specimen collection, and the reporting of abnormal results to physicians.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary treatment environment and ensure competency in operating dialysis-related equipment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and appropriate state nursing licensure.
• Valid CPR Certification.
• Ability to meet the necessary requirements of the Ishihara's Color Blindness test.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Previous experience in hemodialysis.
• Experience working in an ICU setting.
