Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent outpatient nursing care for patients with end stage kidney disease
• Perform patient assessments before, during, and after hemodialysis treatment and document findings
• Administer medications, monitor treatment response, and respond to emergencies as needed
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatment options, and transplant awareness
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to update plans of care and support quality outcomes

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current state nursing licensure and CPR BLS certification
• Less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience as a registered nurse
• Ability to provide direct patient care in an onsite outpatient dialysis setting
• Meet all practice requirements for the state of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Chronic or acute hemodialysis experience
• Experience supporting patient education and care coordination in a clinical setting
• Ability to work effectively with RNs, LPNs/LVNs, PCTs, physicians, and other care team members
