Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD).
• Perform systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-, during, and post-hemodialysis treatment.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update nursing assessments and plans of care.
• Provide initial and ongoing education to patients and their families regarding treatment and transplant options.
• Direct and assist direct patient care staff in the safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are followed.
• Participate in emergency response measures and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and appropriate state nursing licensure.
• Current CPR BLS Certification.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, including moving patients and assisting with ambulation.
• Ability to stand for frequent, prolonged periods and bend over as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in chronic or acute hemodialysis.
• Experience in Nephrology Nursing.
