Outpatient Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD)
• Perform systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-, during, and post-hemodialysis treatment
• Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update nursing assessments and plans of care
• Provide initial and ongoing education to patients and their families regarding treatment and learning needs
• Direct and provide safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed
• Assist with emergency response measures as needed

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current state nursing licensure
• Current CPR BLS Certification
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, move patients, and assist with ambulation
• Ability to stand for frequent, prolonged periods and bend over as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in chronic or acute hemodialysis
• Previous experience in Nephrology Nursing
