Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN LVN

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and perform technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed.
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters and patient conditions on flow sheets and in individual records.
• Administer intravenous medications in accordance with physician orders and state nurse practice laws.
• Assist in developing and following teaching plans to educate patients and families regarding renal disease, diet, and medications.
• Safely operate and perform minor troubleshooting on dialysis-related equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary treatment environment, including addressing blood spills according to policy.
• Report significant changes in patient condition or equipment problems to the supervising Registered Nurse.
• Participate in staff meetings and assist with patient care plan coordination with physicians, dietitians, and social workers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN).
• Current and appropriate State licensure.
• Valid CPR Certification.
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for prolonged periods and lifting/moving patients or equipment with assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Previous experience in hemodialysis.
• Experience working in an ICU setting.
