Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN LVN - Dialysis

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed.
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters and patient conditions on flow sheets and in individual records.
• Administer intravenous medications in accordance with physician orders and state nurse practice laws.
• Assist in developing and following teaching plans to educate patients and families regarding renal disease, diet, and medications.
• Safely operate and perform minor troubleshooting on dialysis-related equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary treatment environment, including addressing blood spills according to policy.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including Physicians, Dietitians, and Social Workers, to coordinate patient care plans.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN).
• Current and appropriate State licensure.
• Valid CPR Certification.
• Ability to successfully complete the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet the requirements of Ishihara's Color Blindness test.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Previous experience in hemodialysis.
• Experience working in an ICU setting.
