Outpatient Dialysis LPN

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and perform technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed
• Administer and monitor treatments in accordance with current treatment plans under RN supervision
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters and patient condition on flow sheets and in individual records
• Assist in developing and following teaching plans to educate patients and families regarding renal disease, diet, and medications
• Safely operate and perform minor troubleshooting on dialysis-related equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary treatment environment, including addressing blood spills per protocol
• Participate in staff meetings and assist with the coordination of care plans with physicians, dietitians, and social workers

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN)
• Current and appropriate State licensure
• Successful completion of CPR Certification
• Ability to complete the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical-surgical nursing experience
• Hemodialysis experience
• ICU experience
