Outdoor Pursuits Trip Logistics Staff

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to facilitate Outdoor Pursuits trips and programs
• Develop an understanding of risk, risk assessment, and risk management
• Shadow trips to learn paperwork, trip procedures, and technical outdoor skills
• Assist with the planning and execution of trips in a timely and efficient manner
• Attend monthly trainings with the Program Manager
• Manage trip-related equipment and follow up with participants
• Work with the Program Manager on an Individual Development Plan to progress toward leadership roles

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to complete administrative tasks
• Valid driver’s license and consent to a driving record background check
• Eligibility for Student Employment
• Ability to perform physical exertion in various outdoor environments and weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal Work Study in Financial Aid package
• Certification in outdoor recreation (e.g., Single Pitch Instructor, Leave No Trace, Swiftwater Rescue)
• Experience working for outdoor youth or adult camps/organizations
• Availability to attend Trip Leader Training in September 2026
