Outdoor Adventures Challenge Course Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and supervise the Challenge Course and other experiential programs
• Manage risk management protocols, including regular inspections and safety standards
• Oversee student-staff hiring, training, mentoring, and leadership development
• Design and implement a balanced curriculum of recreational and physical educational programs
• Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, payroll submission, and program evaluation
• Coordinate climbing programs following nationally recognized industry standards

Requirements

• Working knowledge of current Climbing-Industry Standards and related risk management
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and manage student staff
• Demonstrated experience developing instructor training and leadership programs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for preparing manuals and reports
• Red Cross/CPR/First Aid Certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Education, Physical Education, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as Level 2 Challenge Course Practitioner and Challenge Course Manager by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT)
• Experience coordinating climbing programs within a campus recreation setting
