OTA Systems Architect

About the Company

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders focused on automotive's next chapter. We are addressing the challenges of electric vehicles through technology that sets the standards for software-defined vehicles, including operating systems, zonal controllers, and cloud connectivity solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate system and user needs into user stories
• Decompose high-level architectural definitions into actionable and testable system requirements
• Maintain requirements and test cases based on feedback from engineers and customers
• Lead design and retrospective failure analyses on OTA features and systems
• Arbitrate discussions regarding new features and drive configurations through to production

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree
• 8+ years of experience with complex, cross-functional, distributed software systems
• 8+ years of experience developing application software in Python
• Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP)
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in configuration management for complex electromechanical products (Automotive, Aerospace, Defense)
• Experience with systems engineering and analysis practices (DFMA, FTA, HARA)
• Experience with TCP/IP systems
• Experience with remotely connected systems or software updates
