OSP Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair outside plant equipment such as cables, poles, conduits, and related hardware
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical and structural components of outside plant facilities
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure infrastructure integrity and safety
• Operate tools and equipment necessary for outside plant work safely and effectively
• Assist with planning and executing fieldwork to support construction and maintenance activities
• Document work activities, maintain logs, and report issues or needs to supervisors
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to promote a safe work environment
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve project goals

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as an OSP mechanic or in a similar outside plant or utilities role preferred
• Familiarity with outside plant equipment, tools, and safety practices
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights as required
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
