About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end engineering for complex OSP builds including fiber and copper aerial and underground systems
- Produce engineering plans, splicing diagrams, loss budgets, BOMs, and construction work prints
- Perform field surveys for pole, conduit, and buried-facility measurements
- Oversee permit packages and coordinate ROW/easements through approval
- Lead joint-use engineering including pole attachments and make-ready coordination
- Build and track job budgets, forecasts, and project KPIs
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior OSP engineers and designers
Requirements
- Extensive experience in OSP Engineering from design through closeout
- Expert knowledge of work order engineering, loss budgets, and splicing plans
- Hands-on field measurement experience and knowledge of NESC standards
- Proven track record in permitting, ROW, and joint-use coordination
- Proficiency with PC applications, CAD systems, and field measurement tools
- Experience with job budgeting and QA/QC site inspections
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and setting technical SOPs
- Familiarity with CAD platforms and client portals
- Strong ability to translate technical constraints for stakeholders
