OSP Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end engineering for complex OSP programs including conceptual routing, feasibility, and permit approvals
• Produce and seal engineering plans, splicing diagrams, loss budgets, BOMs, and construction work prints
• Perform advanced loop-loss and electronics sizing and plan network segmentation
• Lead constructability reviews, value engineering, and route optimization
• Direct field surveys for pole, conduit, and buried-facility measurements
• Ensure compliance with NESC, client specifications, and company standards
• Oversee complete permit packages and coordinate ROW/easements
• Lead joint-use engineering including pole attachments and make-ready coordination
• Build job budgets, track actuals, and establish project KPIs
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior OSP engineers and designers

Requirements

• Extensive experience in OSP Engineering (design to closeout)
• Expert knowledge of work order engineering, loss budgets, and splicing plans
• Hands-on field measurement experience
• Deep working knowledge of NESC and industry OSP standards
• Proven track record in permitting, ROW, and joint-use coordination
• Proficiency with PC applications, CAD systems, and field measurement tools
• Experience with job budgeting and QA/QC processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring engineering teams and vendors
• Familiarity with CAD platforms and markup utilities
• Strong ability to translate technical constraints for stakeholders
