Orthopaedic Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare clinic and casting rooms prior to patient arrival
• Escort patients to exam rooms or radiology and obtain vital signs/medical history in the EMR
• Assist physicians with in-office procedures such as joint aspirations, suturing, and fracture reductions
• Apply and remove casts and splints, perform minor wound care, and fit durable medical equipment (DME)
• Prepare medications and injections as ordered by providers
• Order and facilitate diagnostic imaging, including x-rays
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and at-home care
• Triage patient phone calls and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Ensure exam and casting rooms remain clean, organized, and properly stocked

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent or better
• At least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting
