Orthodox Rabbi

Responsibilities

• Advise the Orthodox Student Minyan, providing shiurim, drashot, and halakhic guidance
• Teach Torah using textually ambitious and intellectually sophisticated methods
• Host students regularly for Shabbat and holiday meals to cultivate community
• Provide pastoral care and mentorship to over 100 undergraduate and graduate students
• Collaborate with the Hillel programming team to plan and execute student engagement initiatives
• Serve as a liaison to the local Cambridge Orthodox community and Jewish day schools
• Contribute to the pluralistic Jewish community at Harvard through respectful engagement

Requirements

• BA and Orthodox rabbinic ordination
• Membership in good standing in a rabbinic alumni association
• Experience in experiential Jewish education (Hillel, youth movements, or camp)
• Strong textual knowledge and fluency in Torah and traditional texts
• Proven ability to build meaningful pastoral relationships
• Facility in program design and implementation
• Ability to host Shabbat experiences in a welcoming home

• Experience in engagement and building meaningful pastoral relationships
• Ability to lead complex, intellectually serious, and personally sensitive conversations
