About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 support for retail POS platforms, including ORPOS, JM POS, or similar Java-based systems
  • Troubleshoot transaction synchronization and integration flows between registers, Back Office, and Central Office systems
  • Manage and resolve issues related to sales, returns, and Start Of Day (SOD) / End Of Day (EOD) workflows
  • Perform deep-dive log analysis and performance diagnostics using tools like Splunk, ELK, or Grafana
  • Conduct data verification, transaction auditing, and reconciliation using SQL/PL-SQL
  • Coordinate with store staff, vendors, and L3 engineering teams to resolve high-priority incidents
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support global retail operations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of L2 support experience specifically within a retail POS environment
  • Hands-on experience debugging Java and Spring Boot applications, including interpreting stack traces
  • Strong proficiency in SQL/PL-SQL for data analysis and reconciliation
  • Proven experience troubleshooting REST APIs and JSON payloads
  • Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk, ELK-Kibana, or Grafana
  • Proficiency in Linux environments and managing file transfers via FTP/SFTP
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes microservice deployments
  • Willingness to work a 24x7 shift/on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with POS hardware configuration (scanners, pin pads, and payment terminals)
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS security standards and secure payment handling
  • Experience using ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira for incident management
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and identify recurring technical trends
