About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 support for a retail POS platform, troubleshooting transaction sync and integration flows across registers, Back Office, and Central Office.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to sales, returns, and Start Of Day (SOD) and End Of Day (EOD) workflows.
  • Perform hands-on debugging of Java and Spring Boot applications, including interpreting stack traces and applying minor fixes.
  • Troubleshoot REST APIs, JSON payloads, and event/message-based sync flows.
  • Conduct data verification, transaction auditing, and reconciliation using SQL/PL-SQL.
  • Utilize centralized logging and monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK-Kibana, or Grafana to analyze system dumps and configure alerts.
  • Manage file transfers via FTP/SFTP and operate within Linux environments.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support stores across multiple regions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of L2 support experience on a retail POS platform (ORPOS, JM POS, or similar Java-based systems).
  • Strong debugging skills in Java and Spring Boot microservices.
  • High proficiency in SQL/PL-SQL for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and message-based integration flows.
  • Proficiency in log analysis using Splunk, ELK, or Grafana.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Willingness to work a 24x7 shift/on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance analysis, including thread/heap dumps and memory/GC troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS compliance and secure handling of payment data.
  • Experience configuring POS hardware such as scanners, pin pads, and payment terminals.
