About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 support for a retail POS platform, focusing on transaction synchronization and integration flows.
  • Troubleshoot issues across registers, Back Office, and Central Office systems, including payments and compliance.
  • Manage retail operational workflows such as sales, returns, and Start Of Day (SOD)/End Of Day (EOD) processes.
  • Perform deep-dive log analysis and performance diagnostics using tools like Splunk, ELK, or Grafana.
  • Conduct reconciliation and settlement analysis to isolate mismatches between POS sales and backend finance systems.
  • Coordinate with store staff, vendors, and L3 engineering teams to resolve high-priority incidents.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support global store operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of L2 support experience specifically on a retail POS platform (Java-based).
  • Hands-on experience debugging Java and Spring Boot applications, including interpreting stack traces.
  • High proficiency in SQL/PL-SQL for data verification and transaction auditing.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting REST APIs and JSON payloads.
  • Proficiency with centralized logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK-Kibana, or Grafana).
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices deployment.
  • Experience operating in Linux environments and managing file transfers via FTP/SFTP.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira for incident management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PCI-DSS compliance and secure handling of payment data.
  • Ability to perform advanced performance analysis, including thread and heap dumps.
  • Experience configuring POS hardware such as scanners, pin pads, and payment terminals.
