Origination Associate/Senior Associate

Responsibilities

• Ideate, research, and refine novel venture hypotheses to transition scientific breakthroughs into new companies
• Lead explorations to assess scientific areas and develop actionable, high-value venture hypotheses
• Outline key scientific questions and develop experimental plans to pressure-test ideas
• Identify and build relationships with academic Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to validate concepts
• Analyze the IP landscape, formulate initial strategies, and support seminal patent applications
• Develop corporate strategies, including value creation, organizational charts, and operational plans
• Create audience-specific pitches and support business development activities
• Manage early-stage scientific teams, recruitment, and operational tasks such as lab establishment

Requirements

• STEM-based PhD or MD from a top university
• 2+ years of experience in life sciences biotech, startups, or entrepreneurial activities
• Proven ability to rapidly master new scientific areas and engage thought leaders
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
• Excellent communication skills to convey value propositions to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing scientific teams or coordinating with CROs
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects with a high sense of urgency
• Experience with IP strategy and navigating the biotechnology landscape
