Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient assessments and interpret diagnostic imaging to plan surgical interventions
• Perform complex surgical procedures including dental extractions, facial trauma repair, orthognathic surgery, and implant placements
• Manage pre-operative preparations and post-operative recovery to optimize patient outcomes
• Collaborate with dental, medical, and allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, risks, and post-care instructions
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with healthcare regulations and safety standards
• Participate in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in the field

Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
• Successful completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program
• Board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Valid state licensure
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in oral maxillofacial surgical practice
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on patient care
